Midland Senior Women's Golf Association

FullSizeRenderJust returned from skiing in France and what a great  time we had and for the first time in 3 years no injuries. Looks like I brought the bad weather home with me though and just as we are thinking about the new season.  A lot of us will be looking forward to the Mail on Sunday and hoping the weather will be kind.

Anyway, back to golf. I`m sure you will all be planning your season ahead and looking forward to some warm weather. There were many successes by Midland Vets in 2014, both at club level, nationally and internationally. My congratulations go to those people who were awarded trophies and selected for representative teams.  Our association continues to grow in strength, with more members joining each year. As a committee, we are always striving to find the best courses for you to play and I think you will agree, we have achieved this over the last few years. Out entries are up each year and more of you are encouraging your friends to join the association. We endeavour to cater for all handicaps and feel now there is a competition for everyone. You can find all the details of the events  on our web site at www.mvlga.org.uk on the fixtures page.

2015 will be busy year for the committee as we look forward to hosting the Veteran Ladies Jamboree at Sherwood Forest Golf club from August 4th-6th. I do hope you will come and support. It is some years since the Midlands won, so we are looking to improve on this and bring home the Miller Stirling Salver.

Gillian Stump our secretary will be organising the jamboree and I am sure if any of you would like to help she would be very grateful. Please contact her via the Contacts tab in the menu above.

I look forward to seeing you at the events this season and let`s hope for some good weather.

Good golfing and good health to all of you.

Andrea Stockdale

MVLGA Captain.
