The team travelled to Wales on Sunday 3rd July to play a practice round. Good journeys were had by all and we were bathed in sunshine; what a relief after all the rain of late. The course looked splendid, standing proud below Harlech Castle. We were all excited about playing as most of the team hadn’t played the course before and we weren’t disappointed. Although tricky, with undulating greens we all thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

The club captain greeted us all and left a welcome drink behind the bar, which we all enjoyed sitting on the patio in the sunshine. Most of the team stayed in the clubs dormy house and the rest in the hotel opposite the club, where we had a lovely meal and enjoyed good company and a few jokes.
After a hearty breakfast at the club we all enjoyed the practice facilities at the club, adjacent to the putting green. 2 members of the team, Andrea and Jayne delayed the practice to fly Jayne's kite, much to Andrea's delight. We certainly do know how to have a good time!

On to the serious stuff, oh yes, golf. The weather was very different, with strong winds and light rain. We met out opponents, most of whom played last year and we were pleased to renew our friendships. Matches were closely fought and in great spirit. The course had suffered with rain as everywhere else, but none the less it provided us with a good challenge and was in good condition. We all enjoyed a hearty meal after the match and exchanged conversations and the match finished halved; a good result and friendly.

We all look forward very next years match at Trentham.
